Differential Pressure Flow Meters

Positive displacement (PD) flow meter measures the actual volume filled with fluid or gas, transfers it ahead and fills it again, calculates the amount of fluid transferred. This type of meter measures flow of fluid directly instead of calculating some other parameter and later converting it to flowrate. These meters consists of various piston meters, oval-gear meters, rotary vane type meters. Velocity Flow Meters
Velocity meters measure velocity of the fluid flow to calculate the volumetric flowrate. These type of flow meters include turbine, electromagnetic and sonic/ultrasonic flow meters.
Mass Flow Meters
As the name suggests, these type of flow meters measure mass flow rate of fluid travelling through pipe. These include Coriolis mass meters and thermal dispersion meters. Coriolis meters are highly accurate and are often used in custody transfer applications. However, they are on the expensive side and need labor-intensive inline applications. Thermal Dispersion meters are used to measure the total mass flow rate of a fluid, mainly gases, flowing through closed pipe. These meters are generally used in chemical, gas and wastewater processes. Moreover, these meters find use in pharma, power, mining industries.
TURBINE FLOW METER
